Search
Engines Acvitivy on the rise. |
[Metatags] |
It
is common knowledge that search engines are the main entry
point to the Internet for most users. Especially when researching
products or services, most people would initially visit Google,
Yahoo or other popular search engines.
However each search engine has its own characteristics and
receives more users for different types of searches. Hitwise
published some statistics that show how the major search engines
perform for different search types. This data is valuable
to businesses who are evaluating the option to invest some
of their marketing budget on a Search Engine Marketing campaign.
With the Internet growing fast, Search Engines have never
played a more important role, ensuring your business has good
visibility in Google, Yahoo and MSN can make all the difference
between online success and failure.
A recent research published by the Iowa University showed
that in 2005 (year 35 for the World Wide Web) there are 11.5
billion pages online. The number is even more impressive if
we think that in 1998 a research from 'Science' magazine
reported 623 million pages. The growth is incredible, which
poses an even bigger challenge to online marketers.
Some key statistics:
11.5
billion pages online
2.3
billion pages are not listed in the search engines
60
million servers registered online
75
languages spoken on the web
77 Million Domains Now Registered
